E.J. Poplawski (AK Amputee)
Histoire d'un telemarkeur uni-jambiste... Incroyable This is the story of my accident, rehab, and return to skiing. It shows my full crash (beware its a little graphic), my hospital stay, my rehab in the gym, getting my fake leg, learning to walk, working on my technical skills, my first day back on snow, and then skiing pretty fast on groomers and fresh powder snow. Special thanks to Jonah and Noah Howell of www.powderwhore.com for taking the time to come and film with me and going through hours and hours of my own footage to put this amazing video edit together. Also a really HUGE!!! thank you to Jarem Frye (K12 Prosthetics) who was the first man to come up with the idea and design the first high activity knee on the planet. I am forever grateful for what he has made possible for myself and hundreds of amputees around the world. Several other amputees have since built upon his original idea and created their own knee designs. Also Connie and Onno at ALTA ski resort for always seeing my potential and giving me a seasons pass at ALTA every season since losing my leg!!! Other thanks to: Randy Carson my physical therapist who taught me to walk, Craig Armstrong who made my first leg along with all the other men and women at Hanger Prosthetics who continue to keep me able to put one foot in front of the other, My Friends and Family who helped my get through all the tough times. I especially want to thank all the people who opened there wallets and donated to the several funds that were set up immediately after my accident to help me out financially and get through that first year that I was unable to work or make money. Also I want to thank all my Sponsors who have helped me out along the way with free or discounted gear: K12 Prosthetics, HMK, Smith, Hanger Prosthetics, Freedom Innovations, Alta ski resort, Camelback, Asterisk, C&A Pro, TekVest, Performance Fix Racing, SCS Vinylworks, Carhartt, and High Adventure Powersports. And last but not least the "FORCE" for giving me the power, strength and wisdom to keep on pushing no matter what :) check out www.ejpoplawski.com or like me on www.facebook.com/e.j.poplawski.athlete Also if anyone has any questions especially any other amputees I am more than happy to talk and help you out with the knowledge and experience I have gained over the last 9 years. just go to my web page and my contact info is there.
